SHARED GARDENS

Ann Bernard, Guelph

That is a squirrel after the bird food

My garden needed some action so I added the bird food table and the flying squirrel. He looked more like a squirrel before I added one extra stitch to fatten him up a bit. Then I could not find that stitch to remove it.   Oh well!   That is the way uniqueness happens.

Linda Rickert, Waterloo

I enjoyed learning how to use the basic stitches to make these flowers. This was a fun project and my first creative stitching experience. This was something that I had never done before.

PS. It was Linda who stitched the sampler on page 10 of this book. Look closely at her garden and note the details.

I love gardening, needlework, and photography. I go to the woods to see trilliums in spring. I don't have muscari or bluebells in my garden but I love the colour so included them here. All the other flowers are in my garden including the lovely dark burgundy iris, and the dark red and yellow primulas.

"The Garden I left Behind"

I am missing my garden in Whitby especially the Forsythia hedge at the far end. And I really am a beginner stitcher having started after I retired from the business world a short time ago. But I am finding stitching to be a lot of fun.
